Description
WHO WE ARE
EarthCare Nigeria Limited is the largest commercial producer of organic fertilizer in West Africa using a mix of municipal solid waste as raw materials and applying a unique United States remedial technology which conforms to Clean Development Mechanism (CDM). Our plant situated at Ikorodu, Lagos State at full operation, has the capacity to produce 200,000 metric tons of Grade “A” organic fertilizer per annum under the brand name CompostPLUS. The project is a joint-venture initiative of the United States Government between EarthCare Nigeria Limited and EarthCare Technologies, Inc. under the Gold Key Initiative of the Bill Clinton administration for the benefit of Nigeria. The take-off funding for the Ikorodu project was facilitated by the US government through US Sovereign Bank.
CompostPlus Organic Fertilizer
EarthCare Nigeria Limited
CompostPLUS is the brand name of the organic fertilizer produced by EarthCare. It is non-toxic, odorless and has been scientifically tested at the laboratories of IITA, IAR&T, Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture and has been confirmed to meet international standards
Earthcare CompostPLUS is a product of Solid Waste Composting Project which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by diverting solid waste, which would normally go to landfills in the city of Lagos, to a state-of-the-art composting facility.
Organic Compost helps improve soil quality and crop yields; strengthens food security; and, more generally, contributes to the region’s sustainable development
MARKETING
To ensure that CompostPLUS is accessible to farmers all-year round, we have begun the process of creating marketing outlets through the appointment of Distributors spread across the six geo-political zones. We are also designing programs to reach out to rural farmers through farmers’ cooperative societies. Our corporate policy is to ensure that 30% of CompostPLUS produced is sold to rural women farmers.
