Description
Hey guys! So I strolled on into O’naturals Natural Hair Salon for them to tame my natural tresses since I have been about that wig life for a minute. For me, I’m super particular about my hair and if I don’t like something, there’s nothing like manage. I always do my research before going just anywhere because hair salons in Naij will either, have your weave looking like a cat has crawled up under your neck and died there or if you have natural hair, the 6th member of Jackson 5 with a terrible jheri curl, not I said the cat.
I’m usually more of a DIY kinda gal, because Nigerian hairstyles are known for scorching ends, roasting edges and trimming stupidly. So for me to have peace of mind, I prefer to handle my hair my damn self. However, for trims and things like that I usually go to a hair salon to make sure it’s even all through. Although, this is not without me having done the research. So I looked up a couple places online, trolled through their websites, instagram pages and tagged images (that’s typically where you find the real real) and I also put my ear to the streets ( I asked my friends lol). A few people suggested O’naturals, so I decided to troll through their pages before finally making an appointment. Here are the deets below:
Ambiance: It’s a pretty small hair salon, but they are pretty well-staffed so you should be attended to almost immediately!
Service: Deep Conditioning Treatment, Trim and Twistout. Twistout because these Youtube Naturalista’s always be trying me, my twist outs never look like theirs and I AM TIRED B.
Price: I paid N6,000 for everything . Which is a stealllll because for this they can easily charge you N10k upwards on the island, Mainland been holding ya girl down for a minute now. Although they had one very foolish charge for “De-tangling” to which I fought because in my mind I’m like “Umm hey sis, you would have done that regardless before washing my hair, so why is there a fee?” They sha removed it, you’ve got to be a little assertive I guess.
Location: This salon is in Ogudu, for those that don’t speak Mainlandese… It’s off of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway which isn’t too far after you get off of Third Mainland Bridge. Also the address is also in this post.
